How to get elements quickly

Wherever elements that can be used in alchemy (such as obsidian or peppermint) are found in the wild, you can get as many as you want. You just need to walk far from them then near to them repeatedly. More will keep appearing. You don't even need to go pick them up until you are tired of walking back and forth. It is usually possible to find two tiles that you can walk between to cause them to keep appearing.
